LDS Helps to go with "Behold Your Little Ones" - Listed by Lesson Number

Make your nursery a wonderful memory for you and your children! This project grew out of an assignment for my "Teaching Methods" class at BYU in 2004. I've shared this work with over 1000 nursery workers who have joined my yahoo group worldwide since 2005. I am looking forward to sharing my ideas that are easy to duplicate and most of them come from the Children's Friend or other church produced resources. As I update to the new format, I hope that nursery workers will be able to use these carefully coordinated ideas for the new "Behold Your Little Ones" Nursery manual.

20 I Will Be Reverent

Gathering Activities:
Play Sacrament Music or have someone play the violin while the kids come in to play. Encourage a quiet play activity to the music. I made some reverence puzzles from pictures in a nursery art idea book. We could come up with our own version from The Friend I'll bet.
Activities:
Go on a reverence walk. Be quiet in the halls, see how reverent others are.
Snack:
Talk about reverence before prayer and during the prayer.
Songs:
"Reverently, Quietly" 26 CS "I Want to Be Reverent" 28 CS "Two Happy Feet" 270 CS "I Will Try to Be Reverent" 28 CS "Father, I Will Reverent Be" 29 CS "Our Chapel Is a Sacred Place" 30 CS "The Chapel Doors" 156 CS
Stories:
"I Have Feelings," The Friend February 1995, p. 18 (Kayla copied the visuals for this at the Idea Door)"Jimmy's Church," The Friend October 1992, p. 28
Activity:
The Meetinghouse These are the walls of a house so fine; This is the steeple so tall. These are the windows that let in the light And the doors that swing open to all. This house was built by loving hands As a place to sing and pray. Let us fold our arms, bow our heads (fold arms and bow heads), And give thanks for this house today. I have two happy little feet To take me where I go. They hop me and they skip me, And make a noise, I know. But in my Heavenly Father’s house So softly do they fall That, though I walk, you cannot hear My little feet at all.
Art Activities:
Print the words "My Feet can be Reverent" and trace the children's feed onto the paper. Let them color.
Advance Preparation:
