Advance Preparation
Gingerbread churches was an idea for this lesson's snack. You need a church cookie cutter.
Gathering Activities:
Pin-the-Tag-on-the-Missionary - Print out these pages on cardstock (printout 1, printout 2 links are at this site: http://www.ldssplash.com/fhe/fhe_games/family_home_evening_games.htm then, Control F to find Pin-the-Tag-on-the-Missionary in the document then follow the links for the print out 1 and 2) Color the missionary, cut out the tags and put tape on the back of each one. Blindfold each person and see who gets closest to where the tag should be.
Activities:
Take the children outside to look at the church building and talk about how we have such a nice church today because of a little boy's prayer to know about God. Collect leaves for rubbings for later.
Snack:
Review why we pray before we have our snack. Gingerbread churches were an idea for this lesson's snack.

Advance Preparation:
Hopefully, you have saved plastic Easter eggs for next week's lesson. Ask parents if they have any left or see if you can find some at a dollar store.
The next few lessons are full of scripture stories. You may want to use a dvd for a gathering activity. You can show a few scripture stories from The Children's Scriture Stories DVD. This link is to the DVD for the Children's Scripture Stories (the whole set). You can see if your library has it or will buy it. It is $13.00 with free shipping and would also make a nice family gift.
